Description:
My research project focuses embodied spectatorship in relation to queer, feminist and lesbian pornography. The aim is to reach a deepened, situated and contextualized understanding of spectatorial processes at the intersection of film, body, time and place. Through ethnographic fieldwork, close-reading of films and historicizing of contemporary queer, feminist and lesbian porn film culture I demonstrate how the complexities of time, place, body and film interrelate in the film experience. Embodied spectatorship is discussed through affect theory, psychoanalytic theory and phenomenology. The fieldwork consists of case studies from Berlin and Stockholm and focuses in particular the Swedish feminist porn film collection Dirty Diaries (2009) where I myself participated as director to the short Phonefuck.
